Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights, as a representative novel in the transformation of British society 19th century, reflects transition English literature from romanticism to realism. “Wind,” an important image, appears many times novel, runs through full text, and has symbolic significance. From howling wind accompanying Heathcliff’s appearance resentment wanton beating Thrushcross Grange during his revenge, calming down after death, raging is completely integrated with characters novel. Its rise, roar, calmness all reflect author’s thoughts on social reality such violent resistance yeoman class, contradiction union between peasant group, land aristocracy bourgeoisie, gradual annihilation class by capitalist trend.
